Outfit: Princess

{shirt: thrifted, shoes: Target}
My computer is working again! We'll see how long this lasts...hopefully a good while, because it's been way too long. Thanks for all the love that I've received from you guys while I've been MIA!  Ready for my list of exciting things that have happened since I was here last? Okay? Here we go..

1. I turned 18! I'm an adult now! Crazy I know.
2. I am now the owner of a Canon Rebel T3. That was my birthday present to myself. So be ready to see point-and-shoot pictures start to phase out. (Finally!)
3. I am going to the state competition with my choir this Friday! Yay!
4. I am a Princess for my Senior Prom! I was honestly completely surprised by this one. I had no idea that many people liked weirdo me. Kind of  a nice feeling I've got to say.

Good thing I was wearing princess-worthy shoes they day they crowned me....

Outfit: High Heights

Guess what? It hasn't been nice weather yet. As a matter of fact it hailed yesterday and snowed today, but I managed to get dressed despite it all. I've decided that I like wearing heels, although they make me about average height and I'm not so sure how I feel about that. The urge to go shoe-shopping is very strong right now...actually any shopping would do. I've been wanting a dslr camera for a while now, but $500 is a lot for me and I'm hesitant to shell out all that dough. Maybe it will be a good birthday present to myself, only a little more than a month away anyway!

Crazy how times passes. Some months seem to go by incredibly slow, but I swear March is on like x3 speed. This month is really flying by. Maybe that's why the weather is still wintry..it's just lagging behind a little! Well, my brain is definitely slow this morning...I'm off to do some learning, and probably a lot of nothing. That's how Mondays should be, right?

Outfit: My Mother's Shoes

I decided to be a little festive on Valentine's day and this was the result, though the main reason I'm posting this outfit is to talk about these boots. I love them. I stole them. From my dearest momma to be exact. One day while rummaging through closets she saw these and showed them to me. I immediately wanted them. She bought these babies in the 80's for a dance class she was going to take with my dad. So not only do these just radiate awesome, they also have a sweet little history. Very Valentine's day worthy if you ask me.

In other news, my best friend got me a Wreck This Journal for Valentine's day and I am very excited. I may or may not document that somewhere on here. I am feeling pretty darn stressed from school and it's starting to rain quite a bit here again. Home sweet home. Today or tomorrow we find out who got "senior bests" so that should be kind of fun. I'm exuding positiveness I know. Goodness. I am looking forward to a parent date tomorrow. We are going to see Stars Wars in 3D and eat Thai food.  Score for positive thoughts!

Uh...Why is it SO HOT? + Evil Wedges

First off, I am currently dying of heat exhaustion and hyperthermia. It was over 90 degrees here today (believe me, that's really hot where I am) and I was walking around in it. Sweating like a pig of course, super attractive. I managed to catch the attention of the waiter at Red Robin and an old man in Target though- score! (Hey, the waiter brought us like, three extra kinds of dipping sauce for our fries...) I wasn't planning on walking but my friend didn't want to drive her new five-speed bug to the theater so we walked. And I wore those wedges. Ouch.

Now onto the pros and cons of those wedges:
Pros
  • They were $3.50
  • They're super cute
  • They make me taller (average height)
  • They're adorable
  • They make my legs look killer, even if only my thighs are tan.*
  • Did I mention they're really cute?
Cons
  • Awful blisters on the backs of my heels. Enough said.

Oh well, you know what they say: beauty is pain.
Hope everyone has an alright rest of their Wednesday!

*Yeah...I don't know how that happened either

Outfit: Flowers, More Flowers and a Dog

Dress: Thrifted Forever Vest: H&M Bag: Thrifted Coldwater Creek Shoes: TJ Maxx Bracelets: H&M

Guess what!? I finally got off my couch/bed and got ready today! I got all dressed and went to lunch and shopping with my wonderful momma! We needed it because it's just us this weekend; my dad is taking my big sister back to California. Boo. Anywhooo...have I ever mentioned how much I love thrift stores? That bag up there, it was a brand new $60 bag, the price tag was still on it's twin. How much did I pay-- $5! I felt like I was stealing. Oh and I had to include those last two pictures, Misty really wanted to be in them with me -and you have to check out my gorgeous bug bite on my leg.

Remember how I said if I ever became obese frozen yogurt would be to blame? Well we went again today. Mine's the one on the left. Yum...

Birthday, License and Sun, all in one week?!

Yes it's true, I turned 17 on Thursday! I got my license on Friday, only a year late. Ha. Yay! I am very excited and had a fantastic birthday week. It's magnificently sunny here lately.

So excuse my absence, but I think its justified, don't you? I'll be blogging more in the near future.

My birthday loot! I have fantastic family and friends that know me well.

My mother got me cheetah/leopard flips flops and a new purse. My old purse was falling apart, so I'm excited.

My best friend got me the Wicked mug (We're going to go see it on the 30th), the panda and made me the quilled sheep!

This is Luna. I love her. Read about her in Shelter Spotlight: Luna.

Shoes and Singing: Outfit

Those would be the uber-cute shoes I got to wear to my award ceremony. Easily my favorite pair of shoes I've owned ever, not kidding.

Sorry for the absence lately, it was a crazy week. I'm ready for a low-key weekend.

In other news, here's my dilemma. People always ask me to sing for them, and for anyone who has been in my situation, it's just awkward. What am I supposed to do, just randomly start singing? No, not gonna happen. I always feel kind of bad though. The solution I came up with was to record myself singing something and then post it so friends and family can see. Now, unfortunately the whole world can see once I post it and while I know my friends and family will be nice, I also know I don't have the best singing voice...

Oh what to do, what to do.

Have a fantastic, relaxing (or eventful) weekend everyone!
