Vampire Weekend + 3D glasses= Amanda

Post of randomness! This is what happens when I get too stressed out, my brain just stops working.

Shout out to Vampire Weekend! I love you! Go listen to them, seriously. The best concert of my life and I stood through about seven hours of rain. It was so worth it.

I have to go read about something for my AP Biology class now, wish me luck. I'll probably just end up distracted again. What do you tend to do when you're stressed?

Happy Monday to everyone!

It's Been Snowing...In Oregon!

I told myself when I started this that I was going to update my blog very frequently, even if no one read it. Shame on me. It's been a while but I have an excuse! It's been a pretty busy and stressful week.

It snowed, a couple of inches here on Thursday, which really is insane. It hardly ever snows and sticks. Even crazier, I went to school on said day of inches of snow. It was an outrage. The district has cancelled school when there was no snow before, but when it's actually snowing, nope. The school I go to is also an open campus, so that was fun. Thursday night they cancelled school for Friday. Weird, but I was very happy with the decision. (It barely even snowed Thursday night or Friday).

My beautiful Misty with some snowflakes on her cute little face.

You probably can't tell, but that's the street out there.

My backyard is all snowy and pretty!

Props to my mother, she took this pretty picture while I was forced to be at school.

I love this scarf, but it sheds little fuzzes all over whenever I move. And my hair is straight! That doesn't happen very often. Haha. Forgive my lack of shoes and appreciate my bright green socks, oh yeah. :)

There you have it, snow in western Oregon in late February! Wasn't that pretty?

Anywho, this is going to be a super stressful week, is anyone else overbooked for this week?

I want it to be Spring! Outfit

It is so cold in Oregon. It's not too bad right now, my computer says its 43 degrees but that is not what it feels like in my house. I'm living in an igloo! It's supposed to start snowing this week. Now I know that may not seem bizarre for some people but for a born and raised western Oregonian, snow in late February is like a flood in a desert. It rains here, a lot, but that's about it. None of this crazy snow stuff.
I am very much wanting it to be spring time, and cold, gloomy weather is not going to stop me from wearing cute dresses. Problem solving is all it takes. Tights, boots and my faux fur jacket and presto! Dress is ready to face the freezing morning. My dad told me I looked like a crocus this morning, trying to bloom through the snow. Pretty deep for 7am conversation. Haha

Now I don't want to sound desperate or anything but do you see that little box towards the top of the side bar? If you like what I write, don't be afraid to follow me! I promise I wont write five million posts a day a hog your dashboard. :)

Lazy Sunday Outfit

My Sunday consisted/ is consisting of:
Sleeping in
Going to Church
Eating delicious food
Getting Starbucks
Reading
Music
...and attempting to do some of my homework

Best part? I don't even have to go to school tomorrow, so I can enjoy this beautifully lazy day. I woke up and didn't even care that I was going to look like a slob. I am wearing just a plain gray sweatshirt and jeans with my hair up in a mess. In an attempt to look a little better I wore some of my favorite jewelry, including this necklace:
This may be my favorite online purchases. I got it on amazon, with a gift card, for $2.99 I think? It's all wire wrapped and a pretty pewter color, which you can't really see from this picture but just take my word for it. Pretty pretty pretty.

My weekend is just continuously getting better. Is anyone else having just a great weekend? I sure hope so. :)

The most exciting moment of the week...

Alright, that may be a little bit of an exaggeration, but I was pretty happy to find that the headband I wanted from Urban Outfitters, which I talked about here: What I Want: Urban Outfitters, had a fraternal twin at Target. The most exciting part, it was eight dollars cheaper! Yeah! I found it necessary to share this amazing moment of my life. I was shopping for birthday presents with a friend, found this and had an attack. I think I may have a shopping problem...

Anywho, it's a four day weekend for me and I'm loving it so far. Thank you budget cut days and presidents! Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Friend's Birthday Celebration & Valentine's Day

I just love birthdays, don't you? My friend's mom decided to surprise her with a dinner and trip to see the Eugene Ballet's performance of Alice In Wonderland.
It was so much fun and I got an excuse to wear a dress my mom told me I "wouldn't be able to wear very often".

In order for you to get a better understanding of me, here's a story from the night. I broke a chair at the restaurant. I was scooting my chair in and POP! The arm of the chair just decides to detach itself. So of course, what do I do? Hold the arm of the chair up and start laughing. Everyone told me to fix it quick so I did, it was easy enough. Until it was time to go and I reach for my purse and find that I had trapped it in the chair. Only I could do something that cool. I then proceeded to disassemble the poor chair a second time and free my purse. These things happen to me on a daily basis I swear. Anyone else constantly make a fool of themselves?

Oh yeah! Hope you all had a good Valentine's day, no matter how you spent it.
I <3 You!

Patterns, Penny and Curly

Let's just say yesterday was not a good day. Thankfully it is today now and today will be a good day. Yesterday I woke up with a sore throat at 5:30 am and had an awful day at school, I managed to dress okay though. I had a huge conversation with my father about whether it was too short with my tights or not. Turns out he thought it was fine with the shorts underneath, which I planned on wearing the entire time.

After my fantastic day of school, it was my day to volunteer at the animal shelter. Turns out visiting them was exactly what I needed. I was still tired, not feeling good and cranky, but how can you not smile when greeted by a bunch of wagging tails and puppy faces? It is virtually impossible.

To the left is Curly, the adorable Cocker Spaniel/Chihuahua mix. I spent a lot of time with this little one yesterday because she wouldn't get off my lap and because she's just so cute. I think I made a new friend.

Now meet Penny. She is a Chow mix, and such a sweet girl. She has been one of my favorites at the shelter and continues to be. Her forlorn expression in this picture is due to the fact that I had just left. I swear if I didn't still live with my parents, Penny would be mine.
I must go get ready for tonight now. I get to get all dressed up for a surprise for my friend's eighteenth birthday... I'll write all about it tomorrow! :)

What I Want: Urban Outfitters

I was thoroughly disappointed when I went to urbanoutfitters.com today and saw that my most wanted item was no longer listed! Then I realized I wasn't looking in the right place. Silly me. I would probably buy many (and by many I mean almost everything) at Urban Outfitters, but these are my favorites.

Dachshund Lamp-$78
All the cuteness of a small dog without all the annoying small dog behaviors. Just adorable. Need I say more?

 Ion Discover USB Keyboard-$80
I know I have a real upright piano, but this is so portable

Lucca Couture Cotton Ditsy Piped Dress- $69

I am in love with the dress. The colors, the patterns, the neckline, the shape, everything. *Sigh*

Antique Leaf Headband- $18

Sorry for being the weird nature girl that I am, but the copper color with the leaves is just completely amazing. It would be difficult not to over wear this one.

That brings my total to $245. Hahahahaha, as if that would ever happen. Oh well, a girl can dream.

New year new...?

2011 is here, can you believe it? I obviously can't, because I just typed 2001 three times by accident. There is the celebration, the excitement for a clean slate and the three dreaded words tied with the hope of "Happy New Year": New Year's Resolution.

I, for one, have never been the person to keep a resolution very long and I think I figured out why. They are so boring. Drink more water, exercise daily, go to bed earlier, blah blah blah. No wonder no one sticks to resolutions, they are no fun!

This year though is different, my resolution for 2011 (I just typed 2001 again, ugh) is to do things that I haven't done only because I stopped myself. For example: I'm now a volunteer at the local animal shelter, I got my nose pierced (which I have wanted but too afraid to get for three years) and I WILL get my driver's license soon.

Then there is the blog, it's new isn't it? I look forward to sharing my semi-mundane life with the entire Internet population. We'll see what I end up writing on here, maybe it will be therapeutic or something?
